Description Material Production time Additional info Craftsmanship & Quality Reviews Plate star from Episode 1 – Materia Mensa with Maria Jekova Created for the first episode of Materia Mensa, in collaboration with Chef Maria Jekova, this 24–26 cm plate is shaped from traditional Bulgarian red clay – the same earth that nourishes the Rhodope landscape. Its glazed interior evokes water in motion – depth, reflection, the quiet surface of mountain streams. The exterior remains unglazed, preserving the raw tactility of clay and grounding the piece in material honesty. Each plate is unique. Designed specifically for the Balkan trout featured in Episode 1, this plate is not a neutral surface but an active participant in the dish – bridging earth, water, and cuisine. The piece appears in Materia Mensa, Episode 1: Primal Tastes of the Rhodopes. High-fired ceramic. Dishwasher safe. Diameter: 24–26 cm. Red clay stoneware, color food safe glazes, fired 1200°C, dense, durable, and non-porous structure Ready for shipping Weight 1 kg Dimensions 28 × 28 × 7 cm Made-to-Order Crafted for You, with the Planet in Mind Every piece is handmade in Sofia, Bulgaria, only after your order is placed — reducing waste and allowing us to tailor each item with care. We don’t use pottery wheels; our techniques are slow, manual, and focused on form and detail. Slight variations in shape, size, or glaze tone are part of the process — and proof of its authenticity.
